Perfect ending for Sebastian and Mia! Amazing story!

I was so excited to read The Road To Forgiveness! I loved The Road To Price, but my heart really hated the ending. This book truly was the perfect way to wrap up Mia and Sebastian's story.

Mia ran away from her problems with Sebastian, just like she ran away from facing the pain after Miles' death. Living in Georgia doesn't turn out quite like she was hoping for, and Mia still finds that she is blaming herself for the death of her son. As much as she wants to think that she would be able to give up the child growing inside her because it would be like betraying Miles, she comes to find that she feel attached to her baby.

Sebastian is just amazing. I love him so very much. He hasn't given up on Mia. He followed Mia to Georgia and has been visiting her mother for four weeks. He is desperate to find Mia and take her home.

When Sebastian and Mia finally come face to face again, Mia's heart knows what she needs to do. Despite Mia trying tell herself that she can leave Sebastian, her body and soul are bound to him. Sebastian will stop at nothing to prove to her that they are meant to be together.

What I love about Sebastian and Mia, is that they both worked so hard to try to make things work for them. Mia learns that she not only has to be able to forgive others for the pain that they may have caused her, but she has to have the strength to forgive herself.

The Road To Forgiveness was filled with the same intense sexual chemistry and tension that was in The Road To Price that will leave you fanning yourself and squirming. Justine Elvira can write some seriously hot scenes! I also loved the underlying message of love, trust, forgiveness and overcoming life's tragedies. Amazing story!

Sebastian is still the man

It's good to know Sebastian is still all for his woman, "hi... is that all you can say, hi? I've been so worried about you and all you can say is hi. Where the hell have you been? I've looked everywhere. I talked to your mom, pretty much everyone in your town, and no one knew where you were or if they did, they weren't telling me. And now I see you have been in the next town over this whole time." Sweet Jesus this man does things to my ovaries, "I'll talk to you tomorrow. While you are taking this last night to yourself, just remember how much I love you. I've never stopped." Sebastian is all cocky still, "when you know, you know. I know it's a girl." Sometimes I think he flaunts his wealth, "let's go celebrate. We have the yacht for the night, the staff is already on board, let's go."

Wonderful ending for Sebastian & Mia!

The Road To Forgiveness picks up just a couple weeks after the first book left us and Sebastian has been in Georgia looking for Mia after she just up and fled Miami without a word to him.

There is no doubt that Sebastian loves Mia and is willing to do anything it takes to get her back. He has made tremendous changes in his life since he has met her and since she has left he has been making arrangements to close the final chapter of that life by divorcing his wife Darcy. But when Sebastian finally finds Mia living in the next town over with her gay BFF Jonathon, and when the truth is revealed to him that Mia fled Miami because she is pregnant with his baby, guilt ridden and completely terrified, he becomes more determined than ever to make things right with her and get them all back to Miami as a family.

" He runs his hand through his hair and he looks exhausted...His blue eyes aren't as bright as usual and he looks like he's lost a good twenty pounds. Even with all the physical changes, he still looks as breathtaking as ever. I'm only in his presence for a few seconds and I'm already mesmerized by him."

In TRTP I had mixed feelings about Sebastian but in TRTF he was perfect! When the bomb was dropped about why Mia left I expected him to honestly go off the rocker, especially in the way that he found out- but surprisingly he didn't. What Sebastian decided to do was compromise when Mia said that she didn't know what she wanted to do, and I must say that I LOVED his way of compromising.

"I love compromising with you. I can't wait to show you how great at compromising I am. I always get my way in the end in case you didn't notice...My way is having you, in my bed, a ring on your finger and our baby in the next room. So you better start focusing on that because in the end that is our future"

Mia my heart broke for her in TRTP, finding out about what happened to her as a teenager and then about the tragic death of her son Miles was terrible. But I am so so happy that in TRTF we get to see Mia dealing with overcoming everything that plagues her about her past especially her guilt. I really, really loved watching her come full circle, with the help of her therapist, Charlie, and of course Sebastian and finally accept that she is worthy of love and that being happy is never going to be held against her. And her moment with Charlie when they both realized this together was just *sigh* ... I ♥ Charlie

"You have a wonderful man waiting on you, ready to start a life with you. He wants you and the baby. I find that to be a precious gift and it would break my heart to see you walk away from that"

Oh and you want to know about the steam factor in this book? Well it's through the freaking roof! Justine Elvira can write some wicked hot sex scenes! No really sometimes when you get a book that is lets say 'overly sexed up' I find that the scenes tend to sometimes be repetitive or in other cases overly done but neither was the case when it came to this book. Sebastian and Mia are simply sizzling, and can't keep their hands...or mouths off each other!

Overall I really enjoyed the conclusion of this series, The Road To Forgiveness for me was deep, yet completely satisfying, a well written story about acceptance, and forgiveness. There are times that you will be laughing uncontrollably (probably at something Jonathon said or did) but your heart strings will most definitely be pulled when it comes to Mia. I also feel like it's important to mention there are a couple of typos that I noticed, it wasn't anything overly drastic but I feel like it's important to put out there because for some that's a pet-peeve and I would hate for someone to pick this book up and and not give it the chance it deserves because they catch a few errors. You will laugh, cry, fall head over heels in love with swoon-worthy-dirty-talking Sebastian and you will get a super sweet Happily Ever After what more could you ask for! Grab your copy today!

I thought I was going to read a book about art, but the text has a lot of references to modernism. In that spirit I think Hudek proposes that to understand an object you have understand its relationship to the other objects, which produces aesthetics.

SHOUT laugh worthy! A hilarious and real deal novel not to be missed.

Friend Trip is a definite MUST read! This hysterical tale of two friends and the bond that they share is incredibly poignant and accurate. A true representation of a friendship that everyone should have in their lives. Janie and Becky are the real deal, both at very different stages in their lives but able to be there for one another through their much different situations as true friends should be.
Becky is married with children and has found herself in a rut when it comes to the bedroom. Many married women will be able to relate to this very issue and will find the advice and eventual intervention enacted by her best friend hilarious. I can only imagine the awkwardness but it was so relatable when imagining what my own best friend would have done for me in that same situation.
Janine is a thirty something who is trying to bravely navigate the dating pool water after a divorce. Her dates (or failures) are absolutely laugh out loud worthy and I was in tears chuckling at some of the things that she said.
As funny as the book was, it also packed a punch with how deep the subject matter was at times. The characters were brilliantly developed and both characters had very distinguished voices throughout the novel. These two authors deserve a pat on the back for pulling off such a seamless collaboration and I look forward to more from these two in the future.

Gentle from the Night isn't a blast from the past, it is an homage to the gothic style. Like most traditional gothics, the story is set in Victorian England, and tells the tale of a young woman. After her father's death, Alexandra is forced to work in a lonely, haunted castle far removed from the hustle and bustle of her life in London. The castle is haunted by the ghost of Ursula Pole, the former governess of the ominous and mysterious master of Cairncross Castle, Lord Newell. Miss Pole, an evil and abusive woman, disappeared one night almost 20 years prior to Alexandra's arrival, and no one knows what became of her. Meagan McKinney introduces several modern elements to this traditional tale of a young woman adrift in a haunted castle, including the heroine's own unusual identity as a young Jew; Alexandra faces estrangement whether she is in an old castle or in 19th-century London. Haunting, evocative, and beautifully written, Gentle from the Night is a tribute to the genre.

Enthralling and Suspenseful—a classic Gothic Romance!

It has all the elements of a great gothic romance: a castle on the moors near York, a “brooding, melancholy and emotionally distant” British lord, and a mysterious ghost that may not be a ghost at all.

Set in 1858, this is the story of Alexandra Benjamin, whose Jewish father left her with little in worldly goods but a love of science and an ability to help the deaf hear. Under the ruse of being her dead father, she travels to York to accept a position with John Damien Newell at Cairncross Castle. Damien has lived in darkness for a very long time, haunted by an evil governess who at one point scared his younger brother, Samuel, speechless. He is not pleased to discover “Alex Benjamin” is actually a woman. But he keeps Alexandra on thinking she may be their last hope to restore Samuel’s speech.

Alexandra spent five years loving a man who didn’t love her and the fact her new employer looks a lot like that golden man from her past makes her wary. She is undeniably attracted to Damien but sees the darkness in his eyes. She has heard the talks of he evil governess who tormented the brothers and perversely desired the older Damien. But she cannot bring herself to believe the woman she has seen appearing at odd times is actually a ghost.

This is a well-written, suspenseful story that draws you in and won’t let you go. Damien is a dark hero albeit he is a blond who wears spectacles. He is torn between wanting to seduce and destroy Alexandra and wanting to claim her as his redemption. To add to her great story, McKinney has used snippets from IVANHOE, the book Alexandra treasures, to bring to mind the lovely Jewish woman Rebecca from that tale.

The mystery persists until nearly the end…

Pretty Ordinary

I was interested in this book for the gothic plot, and while it was gothic, it was also a bit on the boring side.
I didn't find Damien all that interesting a hero.
I did like that Alexandra was suffering prejudice for her Jewish heritage, which is a nice and interesting quality for a romance heroine.
Not very sexy or exciting though.

Perfect for people who love dark, Gothic romances

If you miss the Gothics, this book has all the elements that you're missing. But be warned that it has a few elements that most Gothics didn't have. Sex; real spookiness; and a hero who is so jaded that he tries to corrupt the heroine.
Yet for all his dark deeds, Damien has good qualities. He takes care of his developmentally disabled brother, and unlike many so-called "heroes," he never rapes the heroine. In his own twisted way (boy is he twisted), he is honorable.
NOTE: That this book is definitely not for everyone. Some people loathe this book because of its hero. Some so-called dark heroes merely "flirt" with the dark side -- Damien pretty much has a full-fledged affair with the dark side.

The best grammar book for Hindi

I taught myself Hindi from this book, so I have a special place in my heart for this particular book. However, bias aside, there are several reasons I feel this book is the best book to learn Hindi grammar.

First, however , this book is not going to teach you how to read the Hindi script, and you MUST know the Hindi script to use this book. (You should learn the Hindi script anyway primarily because Hindi consonants are worlds away from the consonants of most other languages and you need a way to easily represent 6 different d sounds and four different t sounds without getting confused or mistakenly saying what the closest sound is in your mother tongue.) To learn the script , I recommend Snell's "Beginners Hindi Script, " which is what I used to sort through the madness . Secondly, this is not the world's complete grammar guide to Hindi. It is basic grammar. The advanced version covers most of the rest you need to know, but there is no book that teaches all aspects of Hindi grammar. Every book seems to have one or two aspects everyone else left out, which is why I have ten plus Hindi books in my library.

That being said, the main positive of this book is simplicity and organization. It uses minimal jargon. The information is not crammed together like people on a packed train, as is often the case with many Hindi language books, and the Teach Yourself Hindi books in particular. The other shortfall in the Teach Yourself book is it is hard to use as a reference; everything is scattered throughout, as it seems to be primarily for class room use. Also, this book is written by a native speaker used to instructing foreigners. This is a plus, as I feel certain language insights come more easily to native speakers. Finally, from the beginning, Mrs. Jain focuses on colloquial pronunciation. This in particular is a terrible shortfall of Rupert Snell, who seems to be a promoter of book-Hindi, formal pronunciation. But, let's be real, if you are interested in Hindi, you are more than likely interested in colloquial speech ; you either know Indian people or you like Bollywood. In both situations saying, ve and vehe, yah and vah may get you laughed at behind your back, and/or not understand why the people on TV are not saying what you learned.

This is a fabulous primer in basic grammar that does not try to drown you with information. It it's simple and user friendly, once you learn Hindi script.

Well organized tutorial of Hindi grammar

Usha R. Jain has written an excellent grammar for the Hindi Language. Jain starts with the most simple grammatical constructs and proceeds to more complicated sentence structures. Each chapter builds on the rules presented in the previous chapters. Each chapter is organized into three parts. First, Jain presents a description of the grammatical rule and illustrates it with a number of example. The second sections consists of a number of exercises in which Jain presents a template sentence followed by a number of sentences which require students to make substitutions or transformations. The third section of each chapter is a set of English sentences for students to translate into Hindi. The one drawback is that the glossary is poorly organized. The glossary presents English translations of Hindi words grouped by word type (nouns, verbs, etc.) It would have been better to list all words in a single, alphabetical list. An English to Hindi glossary would also have been useful.

Great resource

This a great resource to use in conjunction with other sources. I am a linguist and so I like to use it in conjunction with an actual linguistic descriptive grammar - the info in here is not detailed enough for my purposes. For my Hindi teacher, however, who has no linguistic background, this book is absolutely perfect. Lots of great information, many good examples and practice exercises, and it gives her a good introduction to linguistic concepts without getting so complicated that it's over her head. Wonderful!
