This third book in Ms. Boon's motorcycle shifter series is probably one of her best stories. She includes all of the characters from the previous two books in this series and takes incidents from them and incorporates them into this storyline. It is a smooth transaction yet covers all the important parts. I loved the romance, the falling in love and the exploring of each other.This particular series is my favorite at this point in time. If you haven't read the previous two books in this series, take the time to check them out. However, it is not necessary to enjoy this book. ~NightOwl Reviews~ Top Pick

Elle does it again with a great story

This is a story of Taryn Cole who's father Keith is a evil man, and almost beat her to death. She meets Jett and they feel a certain attraction to each other. Jett gets hurts really bad and will die. Taryn told his wolf pack that she can save him and she helps him, but the pack takes her with them in case she did something to Jett.
I loved this story and as always with Elle's characters you fall in love with them and can't wait to see what happens next. It was well written and I like the banter between Taryn and Jett. You won't be disappointed with this book and you can read it as a stand alone also, but once you meet the characters in the pack, you will want to read them all.
I have read other books by Elle Boon and I love them all. She always has a happy ending which I like and the story doesn't have a cliff hanger so you are satisfied with the ending.

An engaging and sexy read!!

We meet Taryn Cole as she is being beaten by her Alpha Keith and accused of visiting the Mystic Wolves as he lets out his beast and tears into her breaking multiple bones and requiring her friends Joni and Sky to carry her back to her simple room while they watch for 3 days for her to become conscious again. If Keith were not also her father she would not heal as fast not as completely as she ultimately does.

We next see Taryn later in a bar in Sturgis dancing with some girlfriends. She is attracted to the drummer Jett who she knows is a Mystic wolf. Jett senses her presence, and it unsettles his wolf. Previously being distracted by this “wild wolf” caused the Alphas family to be in a dangerous situation, and Jett is working to earn trust again. Keith’s unnatural wolves come and attack the Mystic wolves, and Taryn with her heritage ends up being the only one who can save Jett’s life.

They both feel the bond between them, and both have reasons to fight the growing attraction. A great view of pack dynamics, mate bonds and sizzling relationships. I especially enjoyed the juxtaposition of how the pack Taryn is from is run versus how the Mystic wolves are true family.

Love her stories so hard! XO

Oh...Jett. He's a bad boy. :) The good kind. Oh there were times I wanted to wallop him. He still found a place in my heart. Taryn I just loved her. I felt so bad for her. She's had ONE TOUGH LIFE! Daughter of a crazed Alpha. I'm not giving everything away but dang lots of lives are intertwined in this series in one way or another. Love it. Taryn is a healer and she can shift into more than one animal. Cool is that? I am not giving away what she turns into, but its badass. She is badass. Jett denies his feelings for Taryn pretty hard. I mean heck yeah he wants her but as a mate? No, hes not ready for a mate and doesnt want one. After doing the horizontal tango with Jett she flees. Main reason is she needs to hide from Keith, her crazed father/Alpha but also because she felt that rejection and Jett's not trusting her and thinking of her as a traitor. Ouch. Well someone gets Jett to realize the error of his ways and he realizes how much he screwed up with Taryn and tries to find her. He came around after that. Then he just couldnt let her go. :) Loved the story and cant wait for more!

Great flawless book. Completely geared towards certification.

Having read a few books available for HANA certification, this is the book that helped me get certified in my first attempt.

The book is very well organized, helped me understand the exam structure and process. The tips on the type of questions, techniques, chapter content and end of chapter questions combined together helped me get a very high score!

This book also includes valuable information on how to install and setup your own HANA developer system using SAP Cloud Appliance Library (SAP CAL) on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud or Microsoft Azure Cloud. This will be a big time-saver (saves several hours of google search and trial runs!) for people who are just getting started on learning HANA.

Introduction
Terry Kottman defines play therapy as an approach to counseling young children in which the counselor uses toys, art supplies, games, and other play media to communicate with them on their level using their "language". The association for Play Therapy defines it as, "the systematic use of theoretical model to establish an interpersonal process in which trained play therapist use the therapeutic powers of play to help clients prevent or resolve psychosocial difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development".

Salient Points - Basic concepts and history of play therapy
Kottman stated that according to Schaefer (1993), there are fourteen therapeutic powers of play and that each of them have specific beneficial outcomes for clients. The powers of play include, overcoming resistance, communication, competence, creative thinking, catharsis, abreaction, role-play, fantasy/visualization, metaphoric teaching, attachment formation, relationship enhancement, positive emotion, mastering developmental fears, and game play. According to the author, the earliest recording of play as an intervention during therapy was done by Sigmund Freud and his daughter Anna during the early part of twentieth century.

Skills of play therapy.
Kottman discussed in the texts skills in which a therapist has to master in order to be an effective helper. She provided a brief look at the different approaches to play therapy that counselors and therapist currently use and introduced logistical aspects of play therapy including the process of the session from beginning to end. Some skills discussed in the text include tracking, restating content, and reflecting feelings, setting limits, returning responsibility to the child, and dealing with questions.

Issues in play therapy
Some issues in play therapy include public awareness of this type of intervention, and the impact that managed health care may have on the profession (negative or positive).

Personal Reaction
Play therapy is an excellent intervention technique for counselors to use when working with young children between ages 3 and 14 years. Time constraints, counselors working more on paperwork and less individual and group counseling also contribute to a less conducive atmosphere for play therapy. I know a significant number of students that are part of the special education program at some of the schools in my neighborhood and think this technique greatly benefits them. I personally would recommend this book to anyone who might be dealing with the problem it addresses because, I think, the author did an excellent job with the writing and contents.

Really Covers the Basics and Beyond

This textbook is a wonderful starting point for beginning play therapists. It fills you in on the history and development of play therapy as well as how to develop your skills as a play therapist and what you need to fill your playroom. I love play therapy and I'm looking forward to using this book to help me build my perfect playroom in the future!

A book showing what's it is, but not how to achieve this practice

This maybe taught me something, but I was disappointed in that there is not one suggestion that I could see of how tro achieve even the beginnings of this practice. Pastor Chris's books are usually very helpful, but I think trhis was not up to his usual standard, although it does show how brilliantr this practice could be.

A neurosurgeon’s first-person account of his near-death experience after an E. coli meningitis-related seizure and seven-day coma will reassure afterlife believers, though it is unlikely to convince skeptics. Alexander’s credentials are impressive: medical school at Duke and 15 years at Harvard-affiliated hospitals. But to agnostics and atheists, Alexander may not come across as a completely objective observer. He writes that he attended his Episcopal church even as he questioned how God, heaven, and an afterlife could exist, yet the heaven he describes seeing certainly seems like a biblical one; a typical line is, “the visual beauty of the silvery bodies of those scintillating beings above.” His story includes interesting asides about past struggles with alcohol and with adoption. Beyond Science and Religion...Endorsement and Support from another NDE survivor

As someone who has experienced an NDE, and struggled with many of the same things that Eben discusses here, I am not surprised at the response that many are having to this book. To say "people who have NDE experiences often find the telling of their story, while trying to impart the information they receive during their experience, a difficult task," would be an understatement as vast as the universe.

The clinical aspects of Dr. Alexander's experience are what make this story unique, along with his outright conversion from a "Scientific Reductionist" to someone who sees clearly that consciousness and the vast majority of "what is," are found outside of our space/time universe and current medical or science books.

To get the most out of any book on NDEs, and especially one that intertwines a very personal journey to find family and self, you must start with an open mind and heart. Unfortunately, those who have already hardened their views on both sides of the spectrums of Science and Religion, will dismiss much of what anyone writes on this topic, because it doesn't fit their narrow, dogmatic view of the world.

Even worse, it forces them to look outside of their safe little boxes, and take the effort to learn, while being open to the possibility that current models of both science and faith are a good starting point, but not the ENTIRE answer.

Einstein's quote at the beginning of the chapter "A Final Dilemma" says it best...
"I must be willing to give up what I am in order to become what I will be."

Whether you begin as a Christian, a Buddhist, Quantum Physicist or a simple seeker of knowledge beyond current understanding, moving outside of the constructs of your current ways of thinking is imperative to discovery.

Fundamentalism, whether it be religious or scientific, is really no different than intellectual bigotry, closed to expanded thoughts, or encompassing new ways of looking for expanded information. Eben's book embraces both worlds, and does so gracefully, without discounting any specific ideology.

Eben's experience was certainly deeper, and far more expansive than most I have read (including my own NDE). I do agree that the lack of detail about his time in "heaven" (a term that I find limiting) is frustrating to a point. And yet, the need to spend much of this book on the technical side of his coma, his quest and victory regarding his family (past and present), as well as touching on the scientific aspects of the current science regarding external consciousness, make this short book an excellent jumping-off point for deeper study and discussion.

And there's the rub...

After experiencing my own NDE (in 1996), I spent almost two obsessive years trying in vain to "connect the dots of knowledge imparted to me," before putting it all back "in a box" so that I could get on with living my life. Through a series of events over the past two years, I find myself very much back into "telling the story." I now realize that no book, video, or movie is able to even scratch the surface of answering the great questions of life after death, consciousness, and how they all relate to quantum theory. Expecting "the answers" from a book of this size and configuration is na�ve and lazy at best.

There is a reason that the section in this book called "Reading List" is expansive. Much has been written on this topic from both the spiritual and scientific approach. If you are a true seeker of the truth, you will not start or end your journey for knowledge with Eben's book. Instead, you will appreciate the facts of his experience, the unique medical reality of his coma, and the amazing revelations about family, love and the eternal nature of consciousness, as the BEGINNING of the journey to true understanding.

While this book in not an expansive, all-inclusive answer to the melding of Science and Religion, I give it 5 stars for being an important, unique story, bringing focus to the need for a global change in the perception and understanding of reality, consciousness and the interconnectedness of everything in creation.

Rang very true to my soul

Many of the points the Dr makes were theories that I have personally had for years but couldn't put words to...he puts another's voice to it that is far more technically knowledgeable about the brains function than I.

How time differs from what we understand, how we aren't separate from God or heaven but in our human "suit"(my words not his) we have filters in place which don't allow us to see the glory and miracle all around us...not immediately visible until you understand them for what they are.

It helps explain on a deeper level why it was so painful for Jesus to be separated from God even if only for a short while. That once you have been there you realize that while life in this realm(earthly)is precious, what is ahead is so much better. That we realize the fear of this new place or what happens next is completely unfounded. Sort of like a childs first day of school....by the afternoon most love what they initially feared and never look back to the time before as "better".

I am not sure why but I am certain there is a deep truth to what this Dr experienced. Once I got started I literally stayed up all night reading it.

I come from 25yrs of a very technical background myself where everything has to have an answer, a reason why it works or fails...we don't allow shades of gray or the unexplained in my work. I am the ultimate doubting Thomas and need proof and then documented observational testing/PROOF of it working before I am sold on it and put it into production. Perhaps that is why this Dr's approach...the measuring, going analytical AGAINST what your natural thoughts tell you, making certain to measure in great deal the opposing hypothesis to your thoughts/beliefs ....really works for me. The world is full of crackpots and those easily fooled with emotional tales....but this guy isn't a crackpot and I am no emotional fool. While I don't know him personally I know plenty like him.

Doc if you read these reviews, don't be concerned if you find some haters/doubters/non-believers...in the end it won't matter as we all will experience it and KNOW for certain. I commend you talking about your experience and wish you all the best.

Prominent Neurosurgeon Vividly Describes Heavenly Journey

Dr. Eben Alexander, a prominent neurosurgeon at Harvard University, has written a fascinating book about his near-death experience. At the age of 54, he contracted a severe form of E. Coli meningitis, which aggressively attacked his cortex, or the portion of the brain that supplies conscious, rational thought. He slipped into a coma, but instead of experiencing nothing, like in deep sleep, Dr. Alexander describes a journey to heaven.

His experience began in a place of fluffy clouds. Then he visualized beings soaring through the sky, beings that he describes as `higher forms.' These beings made a joyful sound: one that he could feel, even more than hear. He was then joined by millions of butterflies and a woman. This woman gave him the following three messages: You are loved and cherished; You have nothing to fear; and There is nothing you can do wrong. Her words are comforting and reassuring.

What sets this book apart is the fact that Dr. Alexander is a neurosurgeon with great knowledge of what makes up consciousness. The parts of his brain that would create experiences like he underwent (such as in a dream state) were not functional at the time he experienced them. He is also a man of science and a skeptic, who changed his views completely after experiencing this. This transformation is interesting and notable. His descriptions of heaven are vivid, uplifting, and fascinating.

If you enjoy this book, there are two books from physicians which I would highly recommend. In Stitches by Dr. Anthony Youn is a lighter but highly entertaining coming-of-age story about one young man's struggles with parents, romance, medicine, God, and finding your place in the world. It's especially recommended for people who struggle with who they are and why they're here. Dr. Youn's book is fun, uplifting, and an absolute joy to read.

Dr. Francis Collins' The Language of God: A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief is an easy-to-read book about integrating Christian beliefs with modern science. Collins, the head of the Human Genome Project, describes how belief in God and the Bible doesn't have to be in conflict with science and its findings. As a physician, I've struggled with these conflicts ever since my college biology courses. His book helped me immensely.

I have read so many recipes books, browsed so many websites since I embarked on a healthy lifestyle for many years. well there is an old adage stating "when the student is ready the teacher appears" I do not remember verbatim. Mr Khepra 's is unsurpassed with knowledge. His focus is primarily to instill scientific and proven culinary principles to assist every reader/student to design or concoct their own recipes; not regurgitating recipes copied from other books. Important principles such as taste sensation that is essential if one is serious about implementing and staying the course with the lifestyle. That is why the book is not replete with tons of recipes only few recipes. The purpose of the book is to impart sound knowledge so any serious student can adhere to , implement, and empowered to be our own personel Chef.

Great job Master Chef khepra! I just bought his dvds classes as well which are high quality hid definition pwer packed with principles.
