Informative and insightful. Very good read

As someone who Asperger syndrome, I first discovered this book when Erin spoke about it on an AS facebook group in an attempt to raise some money for its publication. I've bought copies and found it to be helpful. The book is essentially excerpts from her blog with added "looking back" notes written over the course of a few years. The university I work at has a program for students on the spectrum and I will be donating a few copies here. Erin is local to my area, though I only discovered her work last month online. The book gives insights on AS from the perspective on someone who actually has it, instead of the countless books written by psychologists and others who are not on the spectrum. This makes the book helpful for parents, doctors, teachers, and any others who may be involved with people who have AS. People like me who have Asperger syndrome, would also find it helpful as it can give pointers on how to cope with problems, and so they can compare what traits the have (there are many quirks which can have a great variance, which makes no two people with AS to be alike.)
Definitely buy this if you or someone you know or work with has Asperger Syndrome.

Definitely worth a read!

I also have Aspergers Syndrome and I can relate to quite a bit in this journal style book. It's definitely worth a read. I know what the "black and white" thinking", sensory issues, and social issues feel like in life and you get to see the author grow throughout the book. It definitely offers insight for those who are looking to better understand young adults on the Autism Spectrum even though we are all different and unique. Thank-you for sharing your story Erin!

Must read for anyone wanting to know more about autism.

What an amazing, insightful book! I have friends with children who are autistic. Just reading this taught me so much about the different path that they were given as parents. It's something that we really don't discuss other than to acknowledge that life has been much different than they thought it would be. The author presents quite a few tips for everyone to learn from what she feels, sees and experiences and more importantly.. copes!
This book is a must read for any parent, grandparent, family or friends who want to understand what it's like to spend just a few hours from an autistic teenager's perspective. Goodness know.. every teen thinks they are alone and the only one experiencing certain experiences. When in fact.. they are just growing up.
Very enjoyable and informative read!
